How’s Your Friday Night Shaping Up?

What’s everyone up to? DH & I are chilling. Nice easy tea later of sausages, mash with the last of some double cream & baked beans. DD17 has a friend round - they haven’t seen each other for quite a few years. I should be photographing a bagful of plus size clothing to go on Vinted but not sure I can be arsed! Planning possible dates for a theatre trip in August (Fame The Musical) which will be a very early birthday present. We have to wait until the end of the month to book as that’s when DH’s payments come in. I’m feeling a bit off but think I’m just tired as I only had about 5 hours sleep.

We are also having sausages but with rolls so sausage baps and some other bits like Coleslaw etc
everyone is in tonight no clubs as the one they was one is cancelled tonight which I’m quietly happy about

Getting a takeaway with DP, bottle of wine, and walking the dog now the sun has gone down a bit.

ChopstickNovice · 19/06/2026 19:10

That mash sounds amazing OP.
I have been on a hot train for 2 hours longer than needed due to signaling failures. Hopefully eating sushi with friend soon.....

Hmmm I bloody love Fridays but I’m so shattered from the week I’m in bed by 8.30 and then it’s Monday.

DH is making something for tea, chicken I think.
I’ll watch the rest of Clarksons farm then crawl into bed.

UniquePinkSwan · 19/06/2026 19:12

I’ll be watching the World Cup all night

wherevernow · 19/06/2026 19:12

Watching Big Bang Theory with the kids ( it’s the ad break!) Some nice chocolate too eat when dinner is finished.

mutleyschuckles · 19/06/2026 19:13

Listening to the iow festival happening just down the road in the garden with a cherry rum & the dog & Waiting for the breeze to die down to light the chimnea. Having veggie burgers for dinner followed by another rum & a pack of minstrels.

I went out on Saturday, my only day out since surgery a couple of weeks ago, and someone decided to share some germs with me so instead of my original plan of going to watch the footy in the pub with DH tonight, I’ll be stuck at home feeling sorry for myself. I’ll still have the footy on but it’s not quite the same sitting at home alone (I’ve told DH he can go out to watch it as I’m trying not to infect him). At least I’ll be in my comfy PJs and don’t have to think about walking home after the match.

Plinketyplonks · 19/06/2026 19:17

I’m so tired from the week! Did some tough exercise sessions. I’m in a bubble bath as I type! DH is making some sweet potato dish for dinner, it’s delish. One child on a sleepover, one at home. Once the one at home is in bed we’ll watch criminal record on Apple, really good series! Tomorrow I’m swimming in the sea then have to go into town to the opticians. Pretty chill. It’s the first anniversary of my dead dad’s death tomorrow so might try to nip to the pub on the afternoon to raise a glass to his memory.

afaloren · 19/06/2026 19:19

I’m watching Criminal Minds for a glimpse of Connor Storrie. It’s not good.

ToadRage · 19/06/2026 19:20

We are chilling right now but I needed to clean my smelly washing machine which uses a hot cycle which can take up to 3/4 hours (my machine is so slow) then I have stay up really late to wash (another 3+ hours) and dry my husbands rugby shirt that he wants to wear tomorrow. Please no useless husband gripes. Laundry is my only job and I should learn to keep on top of it.

likelysuspect · 19/06/2026 19:22

We were going to go out but Im so tired with the heat, so just sitting in the garden. We have olives, crackers and cheese. Not particularly good cheese but it will have to do.

vodkaredbullgirl · 19/06/2026 19:22

Having a break from building a set of drawers for my daughter, god I hate flat packs.

DemonsandMosquitoes · 19/06/2026 21:14

Glass of wine, football, booked a holiday.

KurtCobainLover · 19/06/2026 21:23

Waiting to pick DD and her friend up from prom. It’s been a fun filled day with hair and nails and listening to them giggle away to each other whilst getting ready. I’m taking them to mine to get changed out of their dresses and then onto the after party. It’s DD’s first time drinking so I’ll be keeping the phone on loud in case I need to go and pick her up.

MaryBennetsGlasses · 19/06/2026 21:34

I’m binge watching ER with a glass of Rose, DH is watching football. DS1 has crashed out after 3 nights celebrating the end of A levels and DS 2 is playing online with friends from his drama club.

We had a lovely family meal earlier which was a bung-chicken-breasts-in-the-slow-cooker, in a smoked paprika tomatoey sauce. It was bloody gorgeous and low effort. Perfect.

I’m feeling v chilled now after a hard week at work and am looking forward to the rest of the weekend

mondaytosunday · 19/06/2026 21:46

Football football football!

Chelsea26 · 19/06/2026 21:52

We sat in the AC’d garden room early evening watching America’s Sweethearts. (Not the kind of thing DP normally watches but somehow he doesn’t mind the ~gorgeous cheerleaders~ storyline of this one!)

Such a relief to have a cool room!

Came down when it cooled and had nachos for dinner in the garden and are now sitting in the garden listening to music with a 0% G&T and deciding where we’re going to bed - our normal bed is much more comfortable but the sofa bed with the AC is tempting…
