Anything pre 1960

Adele or Ed Sheeran. I get that Adele is objectively good but I find her voice too gratey. Ed Sheeran has three song templates - the gritty one, the whimsical one, and the cheeky chappy one - and all his songs are just variations on one of those. Even when he writes for other people you can tell it’s a Sheeran song straight away. They’re both nice people and good in interviews but their songs aren’t for me.

I like Dance Yourself Dizzy. Listening to it right now. Love a bit of Barry White My fiirst.my last, my everything. Grin
If it wasn't so hot I'd have a boogie.

Nooooo
Here's another bad one.The Nolan Sisters
I'm in the mood for dancing.

Definitely to hot for a dance about the house😁

The Nolans' one isn't in the same league. The one I strangely dislike is Dancing Queen and I love Abba.

Kelly Marie Feels like I'm in love and do it do it again raffaella carra get me bopping and I give you Eruption's One way ticket to the blues.

And I love The Bee Gees.

Switch offs are Oasis. Talentless sh-te.

Edited

I will checkout that record later on you tube
With you on Oasis detestable whiny crapper than crap lyrics.
I hated them in the 90s + all the Liam wannabes.
Apart from Kathy burke when she was Perry.

OldSwan · Today 09:36

@WilliamsandWatsonTooLateNSoul , I'm not bothered about the lyrics (probably because I've switched off already) but it's the rest of it that's shite. I can't listen to it. Whiny droning noise.

Anything by Wet, wet, wet. Their name is apt.

Arran2024 · Today 09:40

Feels by Calvin Harris. Sounds like the singer is saying "catching fish" but it's apparently "catching feels".

I agree. I actually don't mind Adele's voice but I think she's only done 1 decent song. I really like Bad Habits & Overpass Grafiti by ES but apart from that it's just formulaic pap

Everything I Do by Bryan Adams. It was number one for so many weeks when I was a teenager, the fatigue still persists! 😂

You might be interested to know that Bryan Adams feels the same way 😀

For about 10 years he refused to play it live. Now he does but he tucks it away in the middle of the set and tries to get through it as quickly as possible. He has frequently stated that he has no idea why it was such a massive hit!

Lentilcakes · Today 11:48

Whitney Houston
Loveshack
Groove is in the heart
Cliff Richard - esp ‘children singing Chris-tian rhymes’
Any power ballad screech by a woman
Grime etc. not in to that

(Whispers) that's another song I really like now but didn't at the time

I'll never like Whitney murdering I Will Always Love You, though

Any song by Lewis Capaldi. Dreadful wailing noise.

I don't like the Bryan Adams one. I will always love you needs Dolly Parton to be singing it.

The eighties was pretty dire IMO. I can't believe the horrors we liked then.

Just looked at some of the hits and some like were good but they seem to be whingey dirges. I cringe thinking of the teenage me listening to them.
The disco ones aren't too bad because they remind me of hot summer nights at the nightclub.

OldSwan · Today 15:04

I have one, and it's probably a controversial one, most Bob Marley. I think it's from over-exposure.

notmoredirtywashing · Today 15:22

George Ezra. His music gives me the creeps
