Anything pre 1960

OP posts:
Duvetdayforme · 20/06/2026 19:04

Anything by Ellie Goulding.

Jamesblonde2 · 20/06/2026 19:05

I will walk 500 miles. Or whatever it’s called.

Callipygion · 20/06/2026 19:07

Michael Jackson has me sprinting to the radio to switch it off, along with Squeeze (particularly Up the Junction), and Lily Allen. Bah!

TheTruthWillSetYouFreeMaybe · 20/06/2026 19:08

Anything from Sam Smith

Theoldwrinkley · 20/06/2026 19:13

Anything jazz
Anything opera (except for the duet in the 'Pearl Fishers'.
Anything by shrieky women, which I'm afraid is most women.

So what's the problem with the words then?

What a weird thing to say. Just because it’s a fictional sentiment, that doesn’t mean someone can’t dislike it.

BigAnne · 20/06/2026 19:18

Sweet Caroline and Cliff Richard.

TigerRag · 20/06/2026 19:21

The chicken song

PumpKim · 20/06/2026 19:22

Anything by Pink

Valerie, Amy Winehouse, didn't like her or her music

Sweet Caroline and Cliff Richard.

Id be destroyed to be at Wimbledon in days gone by and rain stopped play
Up steps dickhead Cliff to sing🤮🤮🤮

Ooh, hard agree. Can't stand her voice.

Imagine CR singing Sweet Caroline 🤢

Agree with Extreme - More than Words. Again - earnest, whiny, takes itself very seriously.
Nuno was a delight to look at, though.

We Close Our Eyes by Go West, which is a bit of a problem as I am seeing them in concert tonight!

😆
I never 'got' Go West or that song (mind you, I was all about alternative rock when it came out).
The video was so weird. I only found out very recently that they're English and not American, which made the aesthetic in the video seem even weirder.

I change the station if KT Tunstall's Suddenly I See comes on. It's a turd of a song.

My old housemate used to play Constant Craving all the time many years ago, that was until a burglar broke in & stole her cds! It was nothing to do with me, honest 🤣

That's now my earworm for the evening🖕
Loving not your work, though.

TheDevilWears · 20/06/2026 19:49

Soooo many at the moment! My marriage ended 18 months ago and I skip anything on my playlist that reminds me of my exH, is mushy or focuses on the ‘power of love’. I have over a thousand songs on my playlist. I need them 😂

Iamblossom · 20/06/2026 19:52

It's raining men
That Barbara Streisand one
Quite a few actually

KM123456 · 20/06/2026 18:35

Feliz navidad

100% this

ConstantlyTired312 · 20/06/2026 19:56

Groove is in the heart - instant ick

MyJobNow · 20/06/2026 19:58

Anything and everything being sung by Karen Carpenter. I am sure she is well loved by many but, to me, her sickly-sweet voice is nauseating. She is second only to the very-nearly-almost-not-quite-laughing and sickly-sweet voice advertising river cruises - you know the one.

TreacleMoon · 20/06/2026 20:11

Crazy frog by Axel F
It was played to death in the car when my girls were young!
It brings me no joy whatsoever even though they were little angels at the time..

Menopausalyak · 20/06/2026 20:20

Mr effin' Brightside....walk straight off the dance floor
Anything by Oasis....hate show offs
Ditto with Robbie Williams

Cariadm · 20/06/2026 20:21

Can't Live if Living is Without You was playing on the radio when I went into the nurses office to tell them my dear Step-Dad had just passed (me and my Mum with him) and for years afterwards it was just too upsetting to listen to it...😪
I have never liked Do They Know It's Christmas as some of the words I feel are quite offensive and bordering on unconscious racism so that often gets my hand reaching for the off switch! 😡
