Bought some mac n cheese from Costa but it goes out of date today.

Would it be okay tomorrow to eat? 🤔

I wouldn't but will probably be fine but I would be concerned about milk/ cream whatever they put in it

Yes if smelt and looked normal. Probably full of preservatives- it isn't exactly cooked fresh on site. I can't imagine 12 hours is going to change it much.

I don’t think the milk/cream can magically tell the time. It will be fine. If it’s not it won’t taste right so then don’t eat it (but I guarantee it will be perfectly ok)

PurpleLovecats · 18/06/2026 22:17

Yes I would.

Bebeemerald · 18/06/2026 22:17

I wouldn’t eat it if it was in date

PashaMinaMio · 18/06/2026 22:19

If it has been correctly stored, it’ll be fine to eat.
Manufacturers just want food eaten when in their estimation it’ll still be in tip top condition.

I’ve often eaten food(s) ages after the “best before” date, enjoyed it and am here to tell the story.

SideboobToYouToo · 18/06/2026 22:21

If it looks ok, smell it, if it smells ok, taste it.
The likelihood is that it'll be fine.

Yes I would I always think in these situations a bit of upset stomach might help me lose a few lbs. 😂 before I get flamed I know that’s a terrible attitude to take! But being a vegetarian I risk it occasionally with things but meat eater DH, I would never let him eat meat past it’s date.
