Leaving laundry out overnight

I've made the decision to leave the laundry out on the whirly thing overnight, as it's still damp.
I've checked the forecast and there's not a drop of rain on the radar for my locality, yet... it feels a bit... reckless.

What would you do?

I always do .

WeeAgnes · 18/06/2026 21:43

PS. I'm not a bit concerned about spiders and their genitals either!

I've left mine out tonight too.
Nail-biting stuff.

Wetcoatsandmudagain · 18/06/2026 21:48

😳 it will be darked on!! Personally I’m happily reckless! I do it all the time. It’s usually dry next day before the full heat of the sun can bleach it.

Nomorecoconutboosts · 18/06/2026 21:49

Rarely do but am tonight.
by the time I get up tomorrow it will be dry but not baked and over dry.
one of the lovely things about a midsummer heatwave - gorgeous short nights

I've left.mine out for 5 days before, what does that make me 😳

DanceMumTaxi · 18/06/2026 21:57

It’ll be darked on!!! You’re living life on the edge 🤣

WeeAgnes · 18/06/2026 21:59

@DanceMumTaxi I know how to liven up a Thursday night! 😁

I'm glad there's a few of you living recklessly along with me - solidarity 💪

I do all the time.

Foundress · 18/06/2026 22:00

I used to do this when I lived in a house with a backyard. It had six foot walls on all sides. I am convinced it had its own microclimate. My washing was often nice and dry by the morning.

This is what I was thinking. We must be wild!!

TrayBakesAreSweet · 18/06/2026 22:03

I leave mine out overnight all the time. I care not a jot😅

Jellycatrabbit · 18/06/2026 22:05

I hung a load out in the sun at 3.30 and went out, at 4 we had a massive rain shower. No more forecast until tomorrow afternoon so I too am living dangerously and leaving it out overnight.

Nothing worse than bringing a load in wetter than when it went out!

mellongoose · 18/06/2026 22:05

Wall to wall fog here. A real pea super and has been for days. I’m envious of you all and your washing out!

WeeAgnes · 18/06/2026 22:10

@Wetcoatsandmudagain @DanceMumTaxi

It's OK, I have brave laundry, it's not afraid of the dark!

I do it all the time. Put the wash on when I get home from work 6ish. Hang it after dinner, get it in after work the following day.

Since I started hanging out round here I have learned just how slovenly I am 🤣

mum2jakie · 18/06/2026 22:12

Mine is out tonight too!

Twodogsisbetterthanone · 18/06/2026 22:13

Mine is out tonight

herbalteabag · 18/06/2026 22:15

I've done it loads of times so I guess I'm just a big risk taker! Some of mine is out there now and I am not going to fetch it in.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/06/2026 22:15

We often put ours out overnight if it's going to be dry. We once got a whole two loads dry in the middle of winter overnight as it was so windy. Lovely stuff! Sometimes it's the only way to get it out and avoid the rain.

Snap! I’m not bringing it in wet-it’s due to be 30+ tomorrow so I reckon it’ll be dry by the time I wake up!

80smonster · 18/06/2026 22:16

Uh oh, spider willies.

Sally2791 · 18/06/2026 22:18

Never scared of leaving it out- have to keep the loads moving
