what is this bug my sister found around her house, she’s found a few of them and I’ve googled and googled and I can’t find what it is.

could it be a strawberry root weevil? One summer we were suddenly surrounded by them. If they appear it’s usually around this time of year.

Some kind of beetle. I expect it’s harmless.

Does it have purple and green tones to the shell? The rosemary beetle is out at the moment (as well as rosemary it likes lavender and that's where mine came from).

It’s a red legged hamm beetle, apparently a dog food pest that’s hard to get rid of 😫

Are they inside the house? The picture is too small to see it properly but we had small black beetles like that in the downstairs bathroom for a few years every summer and it was woodworm (which aren't worms phylogenetically). Luckily they were only in one of the wooden planks underneath the floor.
