keen to hear from folk who have the compression packing cubes. Are they really more effective at reducing space than the standard ones?

any particular recommendations?

I have both types and honestly I prefer the normal style. The compression ones do get a lot in but they get thinner round the corners where the zips are and a bigger in the middle which actually makes them harder to get in a hard shell case as they don’t sit flat…

Thank you!

I love my compression cubes. I’ve done long haul flights with only carry on and they have been invaluable.

I can’t see the point tbh. Vacuum bags are much more effective if you need to safe space. Compression cubes just compress a bit at the edges and bulge in the middle.

I agree @JillThePlantKillerI have moved to vacuum bags for space saving trips.

I've used compression packing cubes and the standard ones.

I prefer the standard ones.

The compression ones end up awkwardly shaped and items crease more.

You can't go wrong with standard!

Compression ones all the way my favourite are the Primark ones when they have them in stock & definitely no bunching up in the middle.
