Has David Beckham's Walkers advert aged badly after his son's campaign?

just Light-hearted. But does anyone else think David Beckham’s Walkers ad makes him look even more gauche now that his son has released the tasteless advert for doordash?

now they are both simultaneously seeking to make money using their brand and the World Cup- their bad taste has magnified and reflected back on them and shown them in even more of a bad light.

plus the David beckham advert makes no sense because Walkers are called Lays in America!

All I see when I look at any of the Beckhams is greed.

frenchnoodle · 16/06/2026 20:57

gauche, a french word meaning awkward.
Is this the intended word you mean, does this have a different definition in English?

Dearg · 16/06/2026 21:02

David Beckham - man with outstanding sporting talent who has capitalised on that. Sells crisps.

Brooklyn Beckham - spoiled man-child grifter, who lives off his father’s name and his wife’s father’s money. Sells 🤷🏻‍♀️

I couldn’t decide between naive or gauche, I was aiming to say David seems childish and his advert is highly simplistic whereas the Brooklyn ad aims to sell Doordash using an advert which is just a bit more complex.

that said neither seems the brightest

And David just looks even more one dimensional and his son unpleasant because he is making money from personal family circumstances.

if their adverts existed separately they might have worked but somehow both of the adverts coming out together makes both David and Brooklyn look even worse then they did before

Agree - at the end of the day theyre pretty vapid- David should have stepped away from all the promotional work years ago!

Brooklyn Beckham is a talentless scrote. The fact that we're still talking about him at all is crazy. He's done nothing, and will be nothing.

DryadsRest · 16/06/2026 21:19

That is true, but his advert is also in amazingly poor taste - and shows him up to be 1 dimensional and have nothing to trade off but his fall oit with his family

It’s a no from me

David with true talent earning money from his worth in a funny advert. Brooklyn meh

Ive invested about 10 minutes of my life during the last couple of months into the Beckham parents vs Brooklyn drama. 10 minutes was plenty. Plus the minute it took me to type this.

Im surprised anybody truly cares/is interested tbh.

yes, I can see from the lack of engagement on this thread that no one really cares!

Don’t quite a lot a British children use their father’s name, what with it being their, you know, name? On their birth certificates?

In fact the Beckham parents tried to cash in on copyrighting their son’s name fgs.

How much more clumsy Beckham parent PR are we in for? They treat their kids like possessions, and narcissistic PR as their ‘job’. Maybe they could start protecting their remaining minor child instead.

I don’t think they will be able to milk it much more - it’s beginning to look desperate and they can’t predict how Brooklyn might damage their brand further

I don't know what I'm more surprised at OP: your investment in what the Beckhams get up to or your knowledge of adverts.
I couldn't have even told you David Beckham was in an advert for Walkers and i haven't a clue what doordash is.

I agree with @Lugol about their greed.
I find them all equally repulsive.

NeelyOHara · 17/06/2026 06:43

The Beckhams are trying to bury their own child in the press, simply for failing to toe their line.
I’ve never seen anything like it, it’s evil.

Honeyhonay · 17/06/2026 06:48

The walkers add is for the UK market, door dash is an American company and the advert is for a US audience.
David beckham has been capitalising on his success by doing ad campaigns for well over a decade, I don’t see why this would have anything to do with his son.

You do realise lots of famous people ‘own’ their children’s names to stop someone else doing it don’t you?

David Beckham - multimillionaire who punted the 2022 Qatar World Cup despite 6500 migrant workers died to get the place ready for the world cup, he didn't give a shiny shit and took the money to promote it.

Brooklyn Beckham - sick of his parents constantly whoring themselves and their children for a dollar.

I agree I’ve clearly not too much time on my hands and I obviously consume too much American YouTube! Because I get annoyed by them going to a supermarket when it’s a superstore!

And obviously too invested in the Beckhams - I am interested in how theyve monetised themselves and am interested to see where it goes next with Harpers makeup brand launch

Edited

Agree with what you said about David but Brooklyn is now effectively doing the same as his parents - using the family name for a dollar, and he’s risking his own Brooklyn brand by doing so
