Adhd assessment process advice

I'm looking for some advice. I'm pretty sure my dd16 has adhd. Lots of anxiety stress over the years, in year 9 had to leave mainstream school and had home hospital school provision. Been under camhs multiple times. Our local camhs service don't diagnose apparently. I've asked many times.

She's on the Asd pathway for autism assessment (been waiting 3 years so far)

Does anyone have any experience of adhd assessment through right to choose? Looks like my area has a restriction but how do I find out what that means?

Any help would be really appreciated
Thankyou

Hi, my son aged 6 got his diagnosis through right to choose around 6 months ago for ASD and Autism. The wait for CAHMs here was too long so I went to the GP and asked for Right to choose. I went with all the written information/ school reports/ SENCo communications so that there was clear evidence of need for assessment. The GP filled in all documentation and then we chose a RTC provider when at the GPs; we chose Clinical Partners. The wait time said initially 6 months but this was actually a year. The process after that once we had dates for appointments was very easy to prepare for. I’m not sure how it works with RTC if you are already on the diagnosis waiting list for CAHMs but I would book an appointment at the GPs to discuss as they will have all up to date information for your area.

I did see the gp today, he wasn't all that helpful. Told me to go to right to choose webapge and choose a provider then go back to gp with paper work. On the adhd UK page my area says their are restrictions with right to choose. But I don't know what this means? How do I Find out

Have you gone down the RTC pathway for the autism assessment? ADHD referral pathways are different across areas. Sometimes if a CAMHs, sometimes community paeds, sometimes an NDS service.
if your area has a restriction it probably means the waiting lists are so long there closed them, or there’s issues with procuring a service to do them.

since she’s been on the ASD pathway for 3 years I’d push for that. As part of that assessment they should be looking at differentials (so ADHD, mental health etc).

The Asd pathway is for autism assessment and it's the NHS route... Hence the huge wait list.

Maybe I should just wait for this? I last enquired in Feb this year and the estimate was assessment hopefully in the autumn of this year (will have been a 3.5 year wait by then)
