Mattress recommendations

I am looking for a new mattress. Nothing too firm, not memory foam as it hurts my hips (and I’m in my 30’s!), I like a nice soft, comfy sleep but very limited as there are less and less stores to go into to try out!

Honestly its really worth going out to try some, the mattress stores that I went in even had a machine that let you see what mattress firmness suited you best.

I bought my last 2 mattresses online and ended up in pain with both of them as they just were not right with my last one being got rid of under 2 years old as I just couldn't tolerate being in pain any more.

This time I went in store, tried a bunch out and made sure I bought one that has a sleep trial so if it wasnt good then I could exchange it.

I ended up with a therapur actigel glacier 4000. For me its perfect, its not too soft, not too firm and is supportive. Ive finally stopped waking up in pain. I did find a softer overall feel that I liked but researching online suggested this would be less ideal for back issues.

I was looking last year, had a Emma foam mattress which was great for a few years then awful.

You do need to consider your sleeping position and that of your partner if you have one. I then looked up Which reviews, the Simba hybrid (springs and foam) was always top but for fully sprung sealy did well.

Got the symba hybrid pro it's great.

I recommend finding one with a long trial, I think you need to sleep on it for at least a few nights. Simba was 200 nights I think..

We’ve had our new mattress for two months now and we are loving it! It’s a wool mattress from the woolroom. I did loads of research into wool mattresses and I knew a couple of people that had bought them. You choose which tension you want so we went for regular which is just right.
