I mean, I think that's called logic....

It’s up to you to make yourself happy. Nobody can do that for you.

But he has a point - does your partner bring joy, make your life better, nurture you? Is your partner your greatest cheerleader? Do you feel cared for and secure? Or is your partner mean, critical, a fun sponge? Do they minimise your achievements or stamp on your dreams? Are they jealous or controlling? Are they untrustworthy? If so get rid of them. If your partner doesn’t enhance your life then bin them.
