Do you clean before tradesmen come?

Silly one but I am intrigued!
Have my bathroom being refitted this week, and I have deep cleaned the entire house even though they will only be in the bathroom & hallway and all other doors shut due to dust. My DH & dc think Ive lost the plot! 😂

Anyone else clean the house to an inch of its life before tradesmen?

Deep clean, no. I do make sure it's reasonably clean. You think shutting the doors will keep the dust out ... nah. Deep clean comes afterwards.

Depends on where they will be working. In the past I ve maybe had a quick clean and tidy up, but if it’s going to get messy again then why bother until it’s all done and clean up then . It really depends on what your having done. I’m sure that many workmen don’t notice the rooms they are not working in that much ( unless it’s really filthy or they have to move things to get to anything)

I tidy especially if there are areas they need to go through. I may have to move things into other rooms so it's hardly easy to clean.

But not a deep clean, we currently have the downstairs loo done and I am cleaning up dust each night anyway.

The whole house ? Nope. Who's got time for that ?

In the area they’re working I do. Not the whole house though!

It depends on what they’re doing, if they’re ripping something out I’m not going to worry about it being clean. I’ll make sure the bathroom they’re using is spotless, and the house generally clean but given stuff usually gets moved around to make space for them working the house usually looks a tip when workmen are in.
