Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

lucysmam · 14/06/2026 09:07

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my conservatory spot. No cats today - girl cat is trying to pinch dd2's breakfast again, and boy cat hasn't even ventured down for his breakfast yet. He's doing a good job blending in with some soft toys on dd1's bed 🐈‍⬛️.

I have a towel load in the machine, and another load on the line, and will sort my tablets for the coming week before anything else.

Today's plan here is much the same as yesterday - a quick tidy round then crack on with dd2's shirt and other bits for tomorrow. If there's time later, I'll either get out in the garden for an hour or do something crafty for a while.

Tea will be roast pork, roast spuds, carrots and maybe another veg. Then showers, relax on the new sofa for a while, and bed ready for work and dd2's penultimate exam tomorrow.

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning, just waking up feeling groggy after a wee party for the Scotland game last night! I probably got an hr or so sleep before getting up at 1.30 to paint ourselves with saltires and get comfy for the match to begin. Then back in bed at 4.30. I hear kids downstairs, as I suspected they didn’t manage to lie in much. Big one fell asleep during the game but wee one was waving her flags til the end! MIL too! We have a holiday from school tomorrow though so they will catch up.

So very slow day for us. First dry day for ages it looks like though and I bought several things at the garden centre yesterday, so I’ll get them in the ground.

gingercat02 · 14/06/2026 09:20

Morning lucysmam.
I'm still in bed. I was out of the house for 12h yesterday so having a chill one today. Sacked off at class, going to do some gardening instead.
DH is away until tomorrow.
DS and I will watch the F1 after lunch, then he's going to the cinema.
Something easy for tea, think there is bolognaise in the freezer, DS will be watching the world cup, I will watch something on TV with a glass of wine abd then bed, ready for a full week of work

Kitchenbattle · 14/06/2026 09:23

Been up and done a morning workout (core today) just resting and waiting to have my breakfast (I don’t start my eating window until 10) then I’ll have a shower and get ready for the day. Go and collect my ds from his cousins and visit my parents. Once home I’ll put a roast chicken on for dinner. All laundry is done (just 3 shirts and 2 pairs of jeans to iron left- I’ll do them later. Hope you all have a great day ☺️

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 14/06/2026 09:25

Good morning lucysmam and others. I was up during the Scotland game but it was accidental! I've had two coffees and a croissant and shortly I will sort out the kitchen mayhem from yesterday. I had both dgs for some hours. Then I have a mini ironing to do and the bathroom to clean. I might continue the weed killing from yesterday. Salty water works well and the boys had great fun while being useful. Dinner could be chicken curry, I haven't decided. Enjoy your day all

Simonjt · 14/06/2026 09:27

Good morning, I had a gym session early this morning with my hyrox partner and survived it. My husbands grandma is coming over this afternoon and staying for a couple of days so that will be nice to have her here.

A very minimal day for us, I’ll take both the kids swimming in about half an hour, apart from that its going to be an at home day.

Have a nice sunday everyone

devildeepbluesea · 14/06/2026 09:30

Morning!

Been out with the dog and reported a bit of fly tipping to the council! There was a football festival in the village yesterday and, as usual, the clean up was brilliant- save for one catering company that left a load of crap, including their name. So I’ve dobbed them in to the council and the organisers.

Later we’ll have a mooch round Home Bargs, then a bit of a Rivals binge. Lamb kofta kebabs and taboulleh for tea. Happy Sunday everyone!

Hotafternoon · 14/06/2026 09:31

Up 7.15am as heard my phone bleep, currently sitting in lounge with doors open to garden and watching the birds in the bird bath.

Going out midday down to beach hut with friend that I share it with, probably come home about 4 ish, cook tea and might sit in garden and read my book if it's nice enough.

Lovely day here south coast 😎

Topsy44 · 14/06/2026 09:36

Good Morning All

Looks to be a lovely day here so hoping to get out in the garden for a bit again to clear an overgrown area where I would like to get a new cozy outdoor chair. However DD14 has just mentioned to me that she would like to go clothes shopping with me to spend some of her birthday vouchers so gardening may have to wait until late afternoon!

Need to call my 88 year old Mum shortly for a natter, put a wash on for school shirts and work stuff and then head out to the shops.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

flumpmonster · 14/06/2026 09:41

Morning all,
We have had a very lazy weekend due to my youngest being quite poorly. Today I’m going to take eldest to the gym for an hour or so. Then it’ll be the usual Sunday jobs (ironing, cleaning, everything bath) before sitting down a lamb roast and watching whatever football is on today. If I can get a few chapters of my book in, even better.
Its breezy but sunny out there today so hopefully I’ll take the dog out at some point too.

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 14/06/2026 09:42

Good morning @lucysmam & The Sunday Crew. In bed with DH - made us both a cuppa & I had one at 5am. Seem to be waking very early lately although I usually drop off again as I did today. Had a lovely lunch/afternoon with my friend yesterday but sadly have to go to work today. Should be illegal on a Sunday! I’ll visit DM afterwards. She seems to be settling in well at the new care home. Need to buy baking potatoes at some point. Convinced I bought a couple but DD17 must have had them. There’s a small Co op on the way back from the home which opens past 4. I’ll look for yellow stickered stuff too as their reductions are always really good. Will have the spuds for tea with chicken kievs & broccoli. I’ve made a list & will start assembling what I need to pack - DH & I are off to Cardiff on Tuesday to see “ Take That”. Annoyed as I have a really handy folding stool but can I find it? We’re in standing for the concert. Still, I’m used to standing up for the whole of my shift & at least I no longer suffer with my lower back. DH’s work shirts are ready to hang out & the dishwasher needs doing. Sold a top on Vinted so will post that later ( think it’s Inpost). Might watch “Ladies First” on Netflix tonight as it looked pretty good on Gogglebox. Have a great day folks ❤️

Autumngirl5 · 14/06/2026 09:49

Morning everyone, I love these posts! A quiet day for me as I have gone down with a cold. My husband is fishing all day so I’m just pottering today, maybe plant up a pot in the garden and deadheading (my favourite job)!
This afternoon I’m collecting some plates
I found on Marketplace. They are the design that I collect so very pleased to find them.
Something easy for supper then a shower and read my book. Have a lovely day everyone.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 14/06/2026 10:02

I’m going to Pride in Chippenham. The march was yesterday but there’s still a cute market and some other activities.

Hopefully after that we can find somewhere for a nice roast dinner.

CheerfulYank · 14/06/2026 10:04

Working. It’s 4 am here and I work overnights in a care home :)

I’ve just had a very spirited debate with a 95 year old woman about the need to wear something besides socks on her feet to take herself to the toilet. She did finally agree to let me put her slippers on so I’m feeling victorious.

I watched the Australia vs Türkiye World Cup match earlier and reported the updates to an interested gentleman who couldn’t sleep. I was rooting for Türkiye (because I like their TV shows, which is reason enough) but I ended up being very impressed with Australia's defense so I didn’t mind the final score. As an American I don’t know anything about soccer..uh… football, but I’m excited that the World Cup is here and everyone seems to be having a good time, so I’m enjoying getting into it.

At 4:30 I need to do my last round of the shift. I have 15 residents on this wing, and a handful will need to be checked and changed or offered a bed pan or trip to the toilet, and I have three catheter bags to empty and measure. Then I’ll go to the vending machine to get the Diet Coke I look forward to every blessed morning at 5:30 am 🤣 While I drink it I’ll do my charting, then report to the morning shift when they get here, and then I’ll walk home.

I walk through a “senior living community” neighborhood on my way home, and now that it’s nice out there will be a handful of them sitting outside to enjoy the sunrise. They usually like to let me know what birds they’ve seen so far that day and tell me that working nights will ruin my health and I really ought to sleep more 😆

When I get home I’ll shower and then wake DH so he can take our kids to Mass. Then I’ll collapse for a bit.

I live in a very small town and every summer they have Town and Country Days, with a parade and a carnival etc. The kickoff is this afternoon, where they have a pageant to crown the Town and Country Days Princess. One of the “big girls” from my daughter’s dance troupe is competing this year, and my daughter wants to go cheer her on, so we’ll probably do that.

And then I’ll sleep again for a bit, and go back to work. 😩 I hope you all have a lovely day!

therockingbird · 14/06/2026 10:10

Morning all, I’m contemplating mowing the lawn. We (me and two teen boys) are off to the health club/gym after lunch for a gym session and then a family spa afternoon - if they ever wake up! Slow start here 😆

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 14/06/2026 10:17

Got out for a 12.5k run which was just a slog this morning, but I made it round! I run to the next village and back, and round a local nature reserve. I like running through all the morning scenes - a man starting off painting his fence, 2 policeman helping a broken down car, a little egret in the reserve, a woman coming home from the shops carrying coffee and bread, some road workers just setting up for the day, various cyclists and dogwalkers.

Now having a mushroom omelette with thyme from the garden and contemplating my list of chores!

Thislittlekitten · 14/06/2026 10:18

Good Morning @lucysmam and the Sunday squad.

I didn’t make yesterday’s thread, busy day of school events and family parties.

Very tired Scotland fan here. My lovely DH has just appeared with tea and toast and bacon as I’m meeting the girls at 12! Plan is for a few drinks and food. Wont be a late one as I’m off tomorrow and need to do course work all day so can’t be hungover.

DH will be busy with the children and dog all day he will organise some tea for everyone.

Enjoy your day

Rainbow1235 · 14/06/2026 10:35

Tarkan · 14/06/2026 11:27

Morning all!

DH and I were in the pub for the footy last night after being at a friends’ barbecue during the day. That was the first time I had left the house since my surgery last week so I was a bit sore still but it was nice to see people. Because of blood thinner injections I can’t drink though so I sat in the corner of the pub on alcohol-free Guinness all night while everyone around me was getting more and more drunk. I’m still in quite a bit of pain but was nice to do something that felt more normal. It was pretty weird that we’d got to the pub as the sun was going down then we left hours later and it was light again. It’s also the first time I’ve been back home since surgery as I was at my parents’ house while recovering.

DH is still sleeping now but I’ve been awake for a few hours as my compression socks had gathered around my ankles overnight and it was sore.

Right now I’m just chilling on the recliner watching TV. Our downstairs neighbours are cooking something that smells absolutely amazing, lots of garlic for sure and I wish I could invite myself down to join them. 🤣

OchreSwan · 14/06/2026 11:59

Morning (or is it afternoon yet!). I’ve been out for a run this morning - my first ever 5k after starting couch to 5k two months ago. Absolutely chuffed, never thought I’d actually see the programme through!

I’ve since had a shower and sorted a pile of laundry, and now just waiting for it to be an acceptable time to have lunch. No real plans for the rest of the day as DP is working. I’ll try to crack on with my book, or may do some knitting in front of the TV.

Chicken Caesar salad for dinner, and maybe will catch up with Taskmaster which we’re very behind on. Hopefully an early night afterwards!

DilemmaDelilah · 14/06/2026 12:15

Hello @lucysmam and everyone. I've just missed the morning.

We've just come back from the morning service at the cathedral, so we've been out all morning as we had to pick up local daughter and son-out-law and take them home again afterwards. Chorister grandson had all the treble solos (there were lots) in this morning's service so it was nice to listen to him.

I didn't get the things I wanted to do in the conservatory/dining room done yesterday, as I made the mistake of opening the windows and a VERY large probable hornet flew in. As far as I know it's still there, but I'm hoping the heat may have cooked it. I know that's wrong, all living things have a right to life, hornets are pollinators (are they though? I know they eat other insects) yada yada, but I am terrified of them. So later on I will pull up my big girl pants and venture in there....

I'm just about to make myself a big ham.salad for lunch. This evening's meal will be a frozen ready meal for me... Mr Dilemma will probably have ham egg and chips. I will try to encourage him to have some beans or fried tomato with it, but he's having a tomato and some pickled onions with his cheese ploughman's for lunch - and he think that means he will have had enough vegetables .

zingally · 14/06/2026 12:26

Afternoon all!

I've had a really busy few days. Drove 6 hours down to Cornwall on Thursday for a family funeral on Friday. Drove my elderly mum 6 hours back to her house on Saturday, slept over, then a further 2 hours of driving back to mine 10:30. Almost 700 miles of driving.
No plans for the rest of the day. I've got a Tesco delivery coming late afternoon, as I knew I wouldn't be able to face another trip out. Just going to rest and slob out the rest of today. Back to work tomorrow, but only working until lunch time, so that's worked out quite nicely.
An oven pizza is on the cards for tea this evening.

Tiddlywinks63 · 14/06/2026 12:35

Good afternoon @lucysmam & everyone, it’s a lovely sunny day here and the perfect temperature for me.
The washing is on the line, housework done, dogs walked and dinner cooking (pork in cider for DH, I’ll finish up the spag bog from yesterday).
I need to sort out my medication for the week and check if any need ordering but otherwise nothing planned so a nice lazy afternoon.

Crunchymum · 14/06/2026 12:51

Hello all,

Happy Sunday. Beautiful day here 🌞

Although DC3 is poorly so we're currently just bumming around at home.

DP will be home anytime and he is taking the other 2 out for the afternoon (after sausage sandwiches all round). They plan to hit a few parks, then go to his parents for a BBQ later.

Not sure what's up with DC3, she came over all pale and clammy whilst we were out yesterday afternoon, had a tummy ache and a headache so we came home and she slept for a few hours. She slept well overnight and woke up at 10am seemingly a bit better but after some homework and a bath she went back to bed. So she'll have a day of rest. She's off her food, but no real symptoms (she's 8 and medically quite complex and has SEN too so I need to keep an eye)

I'll just get on with the chores, have a load of ironing to do.

MIL has already said she'll plate me up leftovers and send them home 😋 (she'll keep some aside for me so I'll have a good meal later!)

Early night all round.

Kim82 · 14/06/2026 14:50

Good afternoon everyone. I’m late posting today because, as predicted yesterday, I’ve been hungover after the bbq. Not horrendously but enough that I’ve just been sitting with no energy and watching YouTube videos pretty much all day so far, I’ve not even bothered getting dressed.

I’m alone in the house again and enjoying the peace while it lasts. Dh has gone out on his motorbike as the weather is quite nice, dd11 has gone into town with her friend and dd18 isn’t home from Birmingham yet. It’s nice being able to sit and do absolutely nothing in silence.

We’ll soon have a very busy house again though as my sister and BIL (not the one who had the bbq yesterday) are moving in with us for a few weeks as they’re selling their house but their new one isn’t quite ready for them to move into yet. I thought they were coming towards the end of the week but dsis turned up about an hour ago with a load of suitcases and said as she works from home a lot is it okay if she comes and stays from tonight so it’s easier for her to work tomorrow as they’ve spent the weekend packing up their house and putting their stuff into storage and BIL will join her later in the week as planned. Not a problem at all but it meant I’ve had to strip dh’s bed and wash the covers and they’re now on the washing line. They’re staying in dh’s bedroom and he’s back in with me for however many weeks they’re staying here. I’m dreading having to go back to listening to his snoring again - that’s the whole reason we have our own bedrooms 😆. It’ll be worth it though to have them staying, we all get on great so it’ll be a fun few weeks I think.

So anyway, I now need to empty one of the wardrobes for them to store their clothes but I’ll do that in a bit, there’s no urgency as dsis has nipped back home to watch the rugby with BIL for now. Tea tonight will be home made chicken kebabs - I need to go and marinade the chicken for that actually, my hungover brain forgot! Then I’ll iron work and school clothes, have a shower, watch a bit of tv and then early nights all round I think.
