Has anyone got a hack for unknotting a necklace?

DP gave me a necklace for my birthday, it's quite a delicate chain and it's got all knotted up. I'm a bit heavy handed and can't unpick it. Does anyone have a hack? I'm worried he thinks I'm not wearing it because I don't like it!

Oooh water and flour/baby powder! Never heard either of those tips, excellent. Will try next time (not suitable for athletic spike laces – which are very thin and flat and very easily become a vv tight knot).

This happened a few years ago...I used a lot of patience and a needle from my sewing box to get it completely untangled.

Olive oil and 2 needles. Did the trick on a chain I hadn’t worn for years.

If you can get a needle in the knot and wiggle it to try and loosen??

Yeah, give it to DH because I don't have the patience for such things! I get in a big strop.

When it’s done, be sure to store it in a plastic drinking straw in future to avoid it getting tangled again!

Thank you all for the tips! I think the main things I am lacking are patience and decent eyesight. I put some meditation music on and try again 😃
