Most romantic moments

I’m an absolute sucker for a romantic moment, but not the whole ‘red rose and a bottle of champagne’ curated moments.

My most romantic moment recently was that my DH and I were sat on a beach, watching a beautiful sunset and we stayed there in each others arms until the sun went in. It was completely unplanned, just a case of being in the right place at the right time. It’s been a tough few years, but we have come through it together stronger.

Two.

Second date with DH - he reached for my hand after dinner and said he was falling in love with me - never been apart much since - it was more than 37 years ago.

At a ball with DH on a bench oitsode in the rose garden, very unexpectedly, he asked me to marry him.

Flying out to Hong Kong to meet a man I was seeing and on the first evening, crossing the harbour on the Star Ferry leaning on the rail watching the lights with his arms around me.

None of my most romantic moments have been with a partner! Assuming we're not counting actual sex - that's been gloriously romantic at times.

Pitch-black, tropical night swarming with fireflies. Out on a yacht overnight, when our wake became luminous and the ripples were all sparkly. Same yacht, a spectacular meteor shower. Walking alone in a forest, when a cloud of butterflies surrounded my head (like a cartoon Disney princess, only I was tired and sweaty). Driving through Spain, the mountain mist suddenly cleared and an incredible turreted castle appeared above it - OK, that was with XH1.

This is an amazing world. Love is part of it, but the romance isn't limited to our relationships.
