Under England & Wales registration rules: my child’s birth was originally registered under one name and later amended via a Section 17 correction, so both the original and corrected names appear on the current certificate. I understand that if the birth is later re-registered to add a father, a new certificate is issued reflecting the updated entry. Can anyone confirm whether, in practice, the original registered name is removed from the new certificate, or does it still remain visible?
