Will a re-registered birth certificate still show the original name (section 17 correction)?

Any registrars here? Under England & Wales registration rules: my child’s birth was originally registered under one name and later amended via a Section 17 correction, so both the original and corrected names appear on the current certificate. I understand that if the birth is later re-registered to add a father, a new certificate is issued reflecting the updated entry. Can anyone confirm whether, in practice, the original registered name is removed from the new certificate, or does it still remain visible?

If you re register you can only change the surname, not the first name
