Dd 17 and I are going to Munich for 3 nights (yet to book) in July. We’ve been to Berlin which we loved and now she’s chosen Munich. Which area centrally is good to stay? Want to be able to walk to things as much as possible. And if you can suggest not to be missed sights that would be great too!

The Premier Inn is fine and walkable.

Great, thank you. I’m guessing the old town is the best place to stay

If your budget will stretch to it (altho' you can get a deal sometimes) the Sofitel by the station is very nice.

Edited to add - it's a short walk from the centre but there's a metro station close by and if the weather is good, try the cafe in the Old Botanic Garden which is close by.
