Trying to get money out of an isa is such a faff

Why is it so different for ISAs? A savings account I just close. This I have to upload photos of my id, me with my ID, my new bank account statements (which I don’t have as it’s a new bank account).
ive already done the bank security and passwords and phone codes etc. I just want to take my money out and pay something unexpected off.

ISA’s are a faff full stop, I’m sure it could be easier.

What bank is it?
I think if youve got a current account with the same bank as the isa its usually more straightforward to withdraw money into that. If youre withdrawing into a completely new account with a different bank I can understand why they are being more cautious - better some slight inconvenience than someone being able to steal my life savings!

lol it’s a new bank, I’ve done the switching service so it should be obvious it’s legit.
I am using a ready made stocks ISA because I am too unintelligent to understand the other types where I had to have a cash bit and an isa bit and go through rigmarole each time rather than just chuck money in it.

honestly I feel annoyed I have to beg for my money and prove my id etc delaying how soon I can access it.

Massive faff. The isa provider wants bank statements which my new bank doesn’t have. So I will have to drive miles to try and find an open branch or wait for my first statement which will be who knows when.

cannot download online as they don’t exist and can’t be generated.

They won’t accept the printed list from the bank despite it being stamped as ‘it’s not a statement’. This is infuriating.

I’ve been trying for 6 months to move my child’s isa to another provider. So u have my sympathy! I’ve been to the bank 4 times in person and called numerous times. The worst thing is when you call they can’t deal with it, it’s only in branch. When you go to the branch they say oh we will contact the team that deals with it. Can’t even call the branch for an update, they don’t have a number!

1 daughters was transferred fine after I had taken ID to the bank. The other one they then asked for forms to be filled in and a signature placed on account. I’ve been in again and again, they said they will chase the team that deals with it.

I called the other day on the off chance they cld tell me something, they said I need the other bank to request the transfer again. WHY? Also why did one child’s transfer fine but the other I’m being asked to do extra steps. They don’t know. Absolute shambles!

It’s totally infuriating isn’t it? Six months is crazy. I don’t understand why it’s so much more bureaucratic with an isa , even with id checks
