We visit my parents second home a couple of times a year. The neighbours are all lovely. They put their bins out when they’re away, are friendly and suggest things to do when we visit with the children. My parents help the older neighbours with odd jobs when they visit too. When we visit we spend money eating out (way more than we normally do at home), we go to the local fairs and support local charity events. It’s a typical seaside town so when we visit in the winter it is very quiet, as there are fewer tourist then and businesses struggle more in the off season. We could go abroad for our holidays but we have a dog and I really enjoy being in the uk, exploring the coastline and enjoying the relaxed vibe with family (whatever the weather!).
