This isn't pork sausages, used by date 24 May. What do you think. Packet unopened and I just found it in my fridge. Really fancy them with fried potatoes and beans tonight.

Well its use by date was 2 and a half weeks ago so no I wouldn’t. If it was a best before then maybe I could see why people would. But that’s ages past its use by date, meat isn’t the only food that can cause good poisoning

wtf

is my response

SilenceInside · 10/06/2026 18:37

If it's a Use By date then I wouldn't, as it's a very long way past. If it's a best before, then I might, if they seemed ok - smell, texture, taste etc.

I’m loose and free with dates but even I wouldn’t do this…

Trumptontown · 10/06/2026 18:37

Ew, please don’t.

biddybid73 · 10/06/2026 18:37

No

mindutopia · 10/06/2026 18:37

No, you can get food poisoning from vegetarian food as easily as from meat. Bin them and run to the shop for more if that’s really what you fancy.

Ah...ok. I get it. I think you are all correct. Hate wasting food.

Clearly given you were remotely considering this!

Presumably had you gone ahead and done this - it would have only been for yourself and no one else??

Too long - I’m vegetarian but a moist processed product like this is asking for trouble
