Paddle board advice

Complete novice paddle boarder here- have tried one out a couple of times on holiday and would now like to purchase one. Can anyone experienced offer any advice on what type / size to get and anything else to consider? Ideally need one that packs up as small as possible.

Supermarkets sell them for less than £100.
Wider ones are a bit more stable, but for the sake of a few inches I wouldn't seek one out.
Drip guards for the paddle, crocs or water shoes, hat to keep your hair and the sun off your face, a floating keyring for your car keys.
