I love the 80s (90s?) classic Black Velvet but I always wonder what kind of man might wear black velvet and in what context? I asked chat gpt who said it might be ceremonial wear in the deep south but I'm unconvinced. Some of the goths of my youth wore black fake velvet but don't think that's the vibe.

Bloody hell! I did not know that, thank you! I will return the favour having just read the obituary of the actor Anthony Head. His brother is Murray Head of One Night in Bangkok fame, and his daughter Emily Head was Carli in the Inbetweeners! Elvis still wins, obviously.
