Neighbours’ children spreading harmful rumours after I reported antisocial behaviour

I have been targeted by some local families as I made complaints about their alcohol dependancy/illegal drugs use/antisocial behaviour and they worked out it was me. First it began with targeting and threats which the police and housing completely shut down - and they advised me they were dangerous and to try and stay away from them. So then they started using their children to target me. Now they have spread rumours about me and this is ongoing more than a year later. I wasn't too worried as they only spread it among their own 'sort'. But their 8/10/11 year old children are still talking about it and coming to me shouting out sexually inappropriate phrases to me and alluding me to being a paedophile. And my logic is that if they really thought that about me they wouldn't be allowing the children to come to play out unsupervised all the time and if the children really thought that they would genuinely be too afraid to get close to me. I have been reporting it each time this sort of thing happens and I have not been responding to them but apart from moving which I don't want to do is there anything I can do?

I should mention they are not my direct neighbours but it's quite built up around here and they are on the next street

I think the only options are to report them again or move house. Neither sounds great though, and it’s a shame you are in this position. The other option is to ignore them I guess

Awful. I would speak to a solicitor and see what they can advise (harassment, defamation, slander...?).

How did they work out it was you who complained if you don't live on the same street as them?
