Urgent work advice needed

So posting here for traffic. I work 5 days a week normally but recently had an occ health assessment who stated I wasn’t well enough to work my contracted hours. I made a flexible working request and it was verbally agreed, to start this week. It would be my scheduled day off tomorrow but I already had a day off booked for Wednesday. I asked my manager if they would like me to swap days so I’m not off for 2 days in a row (I need Wednesday off for a medical appointment).

Anyway, my manager said they’d get back to me and they haven’t. I also don’t have written confirmation of the flexible working agreement. I’ve emailed my manager and texted him today but they’ve not replied. I don’t know if I’m expected at work tomorrow or not now.

Should I go to work tomorrow or not? There’s more than enough for me to do (NHS admin role).

I’d go in and push for written confirmation of arrangements before skipping days. Without it in writing, you could get into hot water.

Definitely go to work and try to get the matter sorted out face to face.

So have you put the flexible request in and have they told you it’s ok but just not formally approved this??

I agree with people you need this in writing!

I’m still fretting about this (mainly because I don’t really want to go in today!) but I don’t know if this makes a difference, but my manager did tell the rest of my team in a meeting so none of them are expecting me in today.

You’ve muddied the waters here. You already had Wednesday booked off and now your reduced working week starts this week. You should really have left it as it was. I think it’s fine to swap the day occasionally once your pattern is well established and everyone knows what days to expect you in work.

Id try to get a hold of your boss or her deputy on the phone to see if they’re expecting you today, but it sounds like they’re not as she’s told the team you’re now off on Tuesdays and she approved your leave for Wednesday!

So Wednesday is al in addition to your new working pattern. Might you be overthinking it?

I am ND so quite possibly?
