About 8-10 little discolouration patches on stomach area. No illness. Not itchy, not dry or scaly. Literally just looks like pale pink (v pale) or v light brown patches. Anyone any idea? I am white and quite pale. 45..nothing else going on. No changes to diet/meds/shower gels etc

When I had something like this it was a fungal infection. Nothing serious and was just given some medication which cleared it up. Definitely worth checking out with the GP though

Thanks for your reply. Were you ill with it? I feel fine, no itchiness or scaliness, literally just some patches where skin looks a shade or two lighter/darker

Could it be from a hot water bottle or electric blanket? Toasted skin… (Google it, it’s a thing.)

No, I wasn't ill at all. They said it was to do with having had a fungal infection on my feet (shrug)
But it got worse and the patches multiplied, so that's why I saw a doc. Are yours increasing?

Yes it was a fungal infection. I have a big patch now - it gets worse in humid and sweaty weather. If you wash it with Head and Shoulders or rub a bit of athletes foot cream like Daktarin that will get rid of it.

Yes this is how mine are. Just light brown patches. No different texture or itchiness.

It’s a fungal infection. Either an anti-fungal cream or shampoo will sort it out.

Tinea versicolor. It’s a fungal infection.

Thanks everyone, I will get some athletes foot cream today.
