Anyone else so sleep deprived?

Parents or non parents , not getting enough sleep is so so tough

I have a 4 and 2yo. 2yo has always been a patch sleeper and gets in with us and moves around all night. Eldest is an early waker so with broken sleep and an early riser im getting about 2 hours solid as a consistent stretch. That's the most undisturbed im getting

Now im very lucky, they stayed out last month with nan and grandad so I got a sleep that night! Every month we have a night where they will sleep through until about 6am in their own beds. A blue moon - but it happens!

I struggle when im due on my period as I find my self drained anyway , and I just feel so wiped and when they go to nursery and I wfh I struggle to focus or do any work. I want to relax cos im so exhausted then when I get an energy burst I clean and tidy

Just more of a post for solidarity because I dont think its a thing that can be fixed if that makes sense ? Sleep is sleep and everyone sleeps differently so im accepting it a bit - while a bit shattered.

Im part time so off with the kids today so I think maybe a starbucks drive thru trip might be on the cards

Yeah my kid is a type one diabetic, haven’t slept through the night in 3 years probably will never again even when he moves out I’ll be waking up to those high/low blood sugar alarms. 🥴
Least yours will grow out of it! Grin

@Spideyandhisamaz1ng so so difficult. I have a low sleep needs baby who wakes frequently and I take ages to fall.back to sleep each time so it's hard.

I don't know how to function when I'm back at work

What have you tried to help?

Hope things improve for you soon! I have the opposite problem almost in that I’m getting enough sleep every night but I’m still exhausted all the time 😩

I had a non-sleeping baby/ child. When I went back to work after ML she was almost 1 and would sleep for only two hours at a time but only if I sat up and held her, if I lay down she would wake up and start crying and wake DC1 up. I was working 13hr shifts on about 4 broken hours of sleep. That was several years ago. Now, circumstances mean that I get about 5hrs sleep a night but once every week I work a night shift without chance to sleep during the day before or after so lose out on one night sleep.
I hope your DC sleep better soon.
