My child has a school issued laptop. I had to purchase it but it had to be a certain make and model and school installs the software on it.
I am pretty sure, but am going to check, that because the school blocks or does not allow installation of other software on it, I can't install parental controls.
It allows (filtered) YouTube, without any time limits.
It does not have any 'downtime' limits on it.
Obviously, I set rules for my children and I can impose downtime etc but I am slightly frustrated by this. It has turned into 'I need to go on my laptop to do my home work' and then the homework is drawn out because of unnecessary YouTube watching.
Does any school have a better system?
