Unusual bleed after starting HRT

Hi there, I’ve been on HRT for 4 months due to awful perimenopause symptoms. Am 44 and still have regular periods that are never late. I’ve just had a bleed 15 days into my cycle, this has never happened before. I know you can bleed and unusual times when you take HRT, and of course as I’m getting older my periods won’t always be regular, however this bleed has worried me as it’s quite weird looking - it’s a mixture of brown blood, and brown sticky slimy stuff. Sorry but gross.

should I be worried? I had an ultrasound and an mri a few months ago as I have endometriosis, but nothing worrying was found (other than the endometriosis).

should I be worried?

sorry I know this isn’t exactly ‘chat’ but wanted to get more traffic.

thanks so much

Brown blood, as far as I know, just means old blood. I’ve noticed it more as I’ve gotten older too. I still have relatively regular periods but they seem to take ages to get going and seem just altogether slower and that’s I assume that’s why I get the brown blood. I wouldn’t worry but as with anything new, there’s no harm in mentioning it to your gp or nurse.

Ok thank you. Just hate assuming everything is HRT/peri related and could ignore something bad!
