My kids are so demanding - will they calm down?

My kids are 9&7. They require so much input! Even when they play by themselves they are usually doing something dangerous which requires intervention, such as making a theme park in the garden with ‘rides’ of questionable safety. I try send them off alone but it often creates even more work for me!

They’re intense and constant!

Today we took them climbing for 3 hours until exhausted. As soon as they were home one started sewing and the other decided to do lino printing with only half the equipment so we needed to improvise (I’d already put this off from yesterday). Both tasks needed input!

I’d have thought they’d have calmed down by now! Will this happen soon? They’re not naughty but they are constantly on the go!

I couldn’t have written this today with my two 8yr olds. Have then both an hour of ‘their choice’ 1:1 time in the morning, then took them out for lunch, park, local event, a bake sale. Back home at 4pm at which point I had to start the Sunday roast and within minutes … one is: ‘I’m bored, there’s nothing to do …’. . The other starts digging up part of the garden.
