Which Beanie Babies did you have?

back in the 90's, when they were worth having. Unlike the monstrosities that call themselves that today! I had the snake, the snail, the goat and the seal. I can't remember any others but I think I probably had one or 2 more. Jog my memory guys, which ones did you have?

I loved the snail one and the baboon!

lusterencanto · 05/06/2026 21:08

I had a little white mouse!

I had loads! I remember I had the purple Diana one haha! A friends mum collected them in a plastic case and I remember thinking that was tragic even when I was about 8 😬

Around the turn of the millennium, one of my daughters had a lovely little white cat called Starlet or Scarlet. It had a hard life for a toy. My daughter carried it everywhere and sucked its fur until it was greyish and matted, and then her older sister declared it disgusting and buried it in the garden. It was retrieved and had a whirl in the washing machine. I think it's safe to say that this particular Beanie Baby wouldn't have had much resale value.

My DH has a red velvet bear with a rainbow heart that used to be his mother's. It lives in the door pocket of his car.

My sister had a big collection of the bears. I had the animals. I loved the pelican. Really wanted the manitee but never found one. Can’t remember what else I had.

I had a pug - found it in our local gift shop which stored them all in a giant wicker basket. Bought it and then my sister told me she had seen it and buried it at the bottom of the basket so she could go back and get it for my birthday.

I also had a 9/11 memorial one, it was a dalmatian puppy. Cant remember the others.

Gosh I had loads! It does boggle my mind now seeing Jellycat collector pages come up on Facebook. I can only assume they’re too young to have lived through the world thinking the Princess Diana Beanie Baby was going to be worth millions.

Put as many tag protectors on as you like, agonise about which way the fur lays around the eyes all day, they are absolutely not going to provide you with a comfortable retirement!

CheeseWisely · 05/06/2026 21:45

One that sticks out that I had was the Anteater. Also a special edition bear (Britannia) because my Mum fell for the hype that it’d be worth something one day.

My son had several, a lobster, a brightly coloured fish and a lovely blue teddy.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 05/06/2026 22:03

I had a penguin and a lobster, but they were happy meal freebies from McDonald's back in the day when shit was allowed to be fun...

We've currently got hundreds in the loft mascarading as loft insulation

FuzzyBumbleeBee · 05/06/2026 22:23

I remember having a black dog called pepper, a brown mouse called tiptoe and a blue elephant I think called squirt?
I vaguely remember only the mouse being small and the other two larger

My auntie took me into town to buy the horse Oats? When she had a weekend out of the hospital, She passed away not long after.
I found the same horse in a charity shop last year and gave it to dd1

Bananalanacake · 05/06/2026 22:48

Pugsly the pug.

Nugg · 05/06/2026 22:54

My eldest (now aged 32!) had about 500 😳 I spent a small fortune on those little bastards and they all went to a charity shop in 2015…!

OMG love this 😂😂😂😂

My Sister and I had various - monkeys and colourful bears - and diligently put the tag protectors on. My parents had held onto them all and let my 4 year old at them who was like “why’ve they still got the tags on?” and ripped them all off. This is the moment I will refer to in future years when she is after money for uni or a house deposit 😂😂
Side note - the McDonald’s happy meal ones were probably the best happy meal toys ever and I wish they’d do something like that again. My kids would love them!

VanquishedColston · 06/06/2026 01:43

Omg loads, the bears were my favourites though. Had 2 red bears with the white hearts, the peace bears, also one called Gwendoline in a beautiful cape which wasn't actually "beanie" inside but had the tag. A dragon, a fish, the baboon. Loved them all.
