How to get rid of an AGA?

Hi, my friends have got an AGA in their house that that previous owners installed. They rang want to get rid of it as it's so expensive to run, but how on earth do you get rid of them??

Apparently they can't sell it as it's an old style one. It's so big and heavy that they have no idea how to physically get it out of their house!

Has anyone managed to get rid of one and if so, how?

Thanks!

If it is in decent shape and near Manchester then a company called Avec (just google them) would probably take it off your hands. Otherwise it is virtually impossible. Having said that, why would anyone get rid of an Aga? They are the best things in the world.

It's in great condition but nowhere near Manchester! Thanks though.

They love it in the winter as it heats the house but in the summer they have to turn it off, but that means no oven!

We gave ours away and someone just collected it!

Her local Aga dealer will probably know, I would ask them.
Many Aga owners have a seperate oven as well, could she sacrifice a cupboard for one?

I've had several houses with Agas and both had separate electric cookers to use in the summer.

That's a good idea about the local dealer, thanks!

Sadly no cupboard space is available, mainly because the AGA takes up so much space!
