I think I have Covid!

I've been feeling rubbish for a few days and yesterday I fell asleep after my 3rd shot of espresso, with the window open and the sun and wind on me. I'm barely functioning!

Assumed it was just a cold etc until I tried to sniff some chicken in the fridge which had apparently expired today and couldn't smell a thing. Went around the house like a sniffer dog and couldn't smell most things. I could smell the air freshener though 🤔

Honestly feeling a little bit embarrassed/worried as this will be my 10th time or something equally ridiculous. I had it 4 times in the height of the pandemic!

Not ridiculous, quite common. People who have never lost their sense of smell/taste probably don't get how annoying it is. Must be awful for those who lose it long term. Look after yourself and rest when you can.

Its happened to me with colds that aren’t covid. Many colds can cause loss of smell. I once lost of for three weeks and then when it came back I cried! Can’t imagine how difficult it is for people who have it long term.

I used to lose my sense of smell whenever I got a cold or sinusitis. Then, after a bout of several lots of it one after the other about 20 years ago, my sense of smell never came back. Not properly anyway. I can smell a few things, but not much. It has affected my sense of taste as well. It is very tiresome.

Ah I'm sorry to hear that!

I went to the pharmacy yesterday and I do indeed have sinusitis - along with a chest infection and an ear infection.

The pharmacist gave me a telling off for not going to my GP sooner and I'm on antibiotics now.

@Rubbleonthedouble2 Glad you're now on antibiotics, I hope you soon feel much better.
