What embarrassing things have you done in a relationship?

I've had so many cringe moments but these three stick out.

It was a thing to be "engaged to get engaged" when I was at school. And yes I told everyone we were after about 6 months. I really meant it. We split up before college. 🤣

I made a little card for someone else. It was pink, had a strip and numbers like a bank card and was covered in very carefully chosen clip art. It took me ages! He was sweet and kept it hidden in his wallet.

Not funny but I put up with another man controlling me for 3 years. Decades later, the realisation that he also blatantly cheated on me popped into my head completely out of the blue. Even though I'm embarrassed by what I tolerated, that relationship taught me more than any other so I'm glad I had it (and even more glad it finished).

Grabbed a piece of roast beef off the counter, choked on it, had to have some very thorough back slaps to shift it at which point it flew out of my mouth at the same time as I farted and wet myself. And then my dog ate the beef off the floor. What a moment in a new relationship 😂

I'm reading this whilst a meeting in going on at the bottom of my office, and I've just choked with laughter and am trying to style it out whilst getting dirty looks from the person holding the meeting. I'm not part of the meeting thank god but your post should have came with a trigger warning 😂

I was trying to impress a boy I was in a situation ship with. He came around and I was making him a coffee. He asked for two coffees so I made him an enormous coffee in a big soup mug that held around 600ml. Then after he drank it I realised that he meant two spoons of instant coffee in a normal mug. I still cringe at the thought.

Another time I was walking my boyfriends small dog with him. I was holding the lead. A very very large swan attacked us and it was quite vicious. I picked up the dog in my arms to protect it but the swan was mad and pecking me and chasing me. I then ran to my boyfriend and used him as a human shield in my terror. Luckily he was able to chase the swan away. I was so embarrassed afterwards that I had been so keen to throw him into danger to protect myself. To be fair he took it very well.
