Housing repairs fitted a mismatched kitchen drawer after years of delays

Moved into my flat in 2018, noticed on the day I moved in that the kitchen drawer was completely missing, so on a unit with three drawers, one was there, the other was hanging off and the last one wasn't there at all. Housing officer said not to worry and it would get fixed.

Heard nothing after a few weeks and then called them, was told they would send someone out, nobody came, called again to be told the same thing, heard nothing again so decided to email instead, they then got a new app to report repairs so I used that, still nothing.

Now when I call they say 'yes I can see on the system you have been reporting this since 2018, I can't understand why it's not been done' etc..

I have waited in so many times over the years and nobody shows up..

Then about a year ago someone finally showed up, measured the unit and said he would be back in a bit with the drawer, never saw him again.

Long story short they sent someone out today, I wasn't home as my mum is in hospital so I left my keys with a friend so they could get in.

Just got home and they have fitted a black drawer, the rest of the kitchen is cream so it matches absolutely nothing in the room and sticks out like a sore thumb. I called them and they made the excuse they no longer stock mine as it's been a long time, my argument is I have been reporting this for almost nine years and it's their fault it's no longer in stock.

Their argument is I now have a functional drawer, mine is the kitchen is so old I now have a shiny black drawer with 70's style plain cream units/doors/cupboards etc

Where do I go from here?

Complain to your housing provider?? Failing that could you cover it with something so it matches the rest of the kitchen?? My social housing provider only does new kitchens every 15 years 🙃 think I will have the same problem Lol
