Anything to be done about my Tesco delivery?

Going on holiday on Saturday to a busy UK resort and ordered Tesco delivery for 5-6pm. Checked the order today and the address shows as correct address but postcode from holiday cottage of 2 years ago (2 streets away). Whatsapped Tesco who say PC can't be changed and I'll have to cancel the order or it will be delivered to cottage from 2 years ago, even the street address is correct for this year's cottage. Aargh. Anything I can do except camp outside the wrong cottage and leave DH at ours?

Can you create a second, correct, order and then cancel the first one?

I'd just cancel it & rebook if there's a slot available, (create the order as a list first!!)

if not I'd just go there to collect it from the driver (with ID)

Tesco remind you to update your order at 5pm the day before. If you log on at 5:30ish on Friday there are likely to be slots available. Annoying though that you can't change it now.

Edited to add: the slots often become available then as people's plans have changed and they don't want the slot anymore.

See if you can get a slot with another supermarket then cancel Tesco?

Used to work for Tesco customer service. Unfortunately there's nothing that can be done. The only option would have been to book a new slot but as you say they're all booked up. You'll need to collect it from the delivery address. There's no point putting the other address in the delivery notes as they have to deliver to the address on the order. I left Tesco a few years ago but I think they have tracking now, so you might not have to wait for the whole duration of the slot.

I would book with another supermarket and cancel that order. I wouldn’t want to risk no other slots coming up, and I’d be stressed in case the delivery driver either came early or said he had to knock on the door and deliver it into the house or some annoying rule like that

How will Tesco know which property to deliver to? Postcodes serve several properties. Surely the driver will go to the street address?

Add it to your address book first. Check it
Cancel order and instantly rebook the slot.

If you are that committed to having delivery, just go sit outside the other house and say the post code was wrong and load it into your car.
