Yes, I’ve had the tingling mouth/tongue, fingers and toes, once had paralysis in my leg and stumbled in my kitchen. Been unable to form words correctly. It’s a funny old syndrome. Fortunately for me, it has got much milder as I’ve got older.

Flashing white lights, like fork lightning, in front of my eyes before the migraine starts.

Tinnitus. If it's ringing I know it's a warning sign a migraine is on the way then in a 'full blown' migraine it becomes pulsatile (checked by doctors to rule out anything vascular!)

RipleyGreen · Yesterday 13:00

Me too with the mouth tingle. I get skin sensitivity too, can be anywhere , patches on my face, arm, leg. It feels like I’ve been burned, I look and expect to see little blisters or something, but obviously there’s nothing there. That sensation can last an hour or a week. I get emotional symptoms, can feel very happy, and then be tearful. Gripped by a feeling of doom, and white-hot anxiety. My teeth hurt. I crave salt and chocolate. I need to go to the loo more, my bladder gets v irritated. I get visual aura and a sense I’m not speaking properly. They are a ghastly affliction. I was under a neurologist for a while and he used to say that they should be called migrailepsy as the impact of them is so little understood and they’re closer to a seizure than people appreciate.

looselegs · Yesterday 13:01

Wobbly lines in front of my eye- usually my right one.
Struggle to form words. Sometimes numbness in my face. Pins and needles in my hands.
Weird what our bodies do!

It’s called White Snow

Really low mood and insatiable need for carbs. Also I feel like I can smell everything.

TigerRag · Yesterday 13:03

The right side of my face used to go numb

This for sure! And, oof, if someone is wearing a ‘heavy’ perfume I’m doomed for days!

SuffolkBargeWoman · Yesterday 13:04

Personality change, it's horrible and I try to not let it affect how I behave.

XenoBitch · Yesterday 13:04

I get the aura but no headache. The aura covers most of my sight, and I feel a bit off for the rest of the day.

IPoopRainblows · Yesterday 13:05

Excessive yawning, to the extent my whole face contorts as I yawn. For me the oddest side effect is post migraine, I generally wake up a bad migraine feeling euphoric and full of energy and ready to take on the world - I think it’s my mind and bodies way of demonstrating relief.

Crafta · Yesterday 13:07

Strange feeling of like numbness on left side of face. DH gets excessive yawning, we both get migraines quite rarely and I am very sick with mine

YorkieTheRabbit · Yesterday 13:10

Numb patch in my upper left, pins and needles in my middle and ring finger of left hand.
Yawning and really aching neck before there is any pain.
My sense of smell goes through the roof.
I’m absolutely starving a few hours before one starts, especially need salt and chocolate.

Thank you all for your comments it has helped me alot.
At one point i thought i had an allergy to milk because of the mouth tingling, but i think its liked to migraines.

I rarely get the agonising pain with my migraines. I get a headache, sure, but for me the tell tale signs are a very stiff neck, and brain fog. Genuinely I cannot think, cannot read, I slur my words and some people think I'm drunk.
And I yawn, excessively. I think it may be my bodies way of trying to inhale more air and get it to the brain perhaps.
I have found the day before a migraine I crave, and truly crave, sweet things.

Thankfully, I very rarely get headaches or migraines, but have had the following:

Ocular migraine. I get a zig zag, warped image and flashing from 1 eye. It makes me slightly dizzy and nauseous. Thank fully it usually lasts less than 15mins, but then I often get a headache for an hour.

I started a diary to see if it was linked to my menstrual cycle, wearing contact lenses, foods, sleep etc and the only thing linked was a stressful job. I used to get them about every 2mths, but I've since left that job- I've only had one in about 7yrs!

Vestibular migraine- I only had this one twice, when I was having dental work done. I think I was grinding my teeth at night in bed, which then somehow caused the symptoms.

I'd wake and rolling over in bed felt dizzy and like I was going to be sick. I had to hold the walls when walking, because it felt like I was on a ship and everything was spinning. I was sick several times and lying down and sleeping was the only thing that helped- slightly. Strangely, I'd see say a slipper on the floor but my brain would tell me it was moving! It was a bit freaky thinking the rug, the chair, the lamp etc were moving about. It took over a week each time to recover fully, with each day getting slightly better. Once my permanent crown was fitted on my tooth- I've never had it since.

Absence of vision on one side, almost without realising it. I remember watching Judge Judy years ago and suddenly realising she only had half a face. Horrific. Also suddenly not being able to swallow/breathe for a few seconds.

This thread as been very helpful to me.
Im thinking of going abroad to see a migrain and allergy specialists, because the NHS are just not helping me but not a clue where to start or what to look for.

I get some really strange ones. I get numb thumbs, and a compulsion to bite them, which I can resist. Slurred speech and a feeling that my tongue is too big for my mouth. And smells get much smellier, and colours more saturated. This is as well as the usual vision disturbance, sensitivity to light and one sided intense pain.

Edited to add vomiting.

Tunnocksmallow · Yesterday 13:42

I get dizzy, I have mood swings. My partner witnessed it once and couldn’t believe it; he said it was as if someone had flicked a switch on my brain. One minute I was laughing and joking and the next my face went dark and I turned into someone who was an angry anxious mess.
if I’m in for a really bad one, I jumble words and read words wrong. My temperature control goes wild.

Its more than a headache!
