Blooming bras!

Where to find a bra that fits??!!
I am fairly thin - 5 foot 7 and 9 stone - and cannot find a bra to fit anywhere.
My underbust measurement is 38", but cup size is A - or less really!
Add in that I have a pacemaker sticking out on the left side of my upper ribs only just under the skin and this is uncomfortable when there is a strap over it.

I don't bother with bras at all in the winter - all hidden under jumpers - but feel I ought to do the right thing and cover my nipples in summer clothes. Crop tops would do the trick but of course are visible with more flimsy summer tops.

I have just tried on a bralette - but too tight round the underbust - think they might be for teenagers!

Any ideas?

38 inches sounds large for an underbust of a 9 stone person. I'm a size 18/20 (nearly 16 stone) and wear a 36 back. If you have any breast tissue then its unlikely youre an A cup as thats only 1 inch difference between and and over bust measurements

I’m puzzled how you can be a 38 with those measurements. I’m 5.7 and 12.5 stone and I’m a 34.

I must have big ribs!

What are your under and over bust measurements?
You'd take a tighter measurement for underneath

Apileofballyhoo · 01/06/2026 13:50

Are you measuring and adding 4 or something?

Crystallllll · 01/06/2026 13:56

What are your actual measurements?

I’m a fairly similar shape to you, but a bit bigger - I’m 5ft9 and 10 stone and with a slim build, but a very large ribcage and almost no boobs at all. It’s a nightmare shape to dress because my ribs stick out more than my boobs!

After some fairly upsetting bra fittings, I found a range at John Lewis called and/or which I love. I wear a 36B which is a really good fit (despite being genuinely more nipple than boob) so you might find that works for you?

ETA it’s the AND/OR wren lace underwires plunge that suits me - it’s very comfortable and gives a good shape under clothes.
