I have no knowledge of Canada at all and have never been there, but am listening to a track by a Canadian band and I just started wondering…

There are very few Canadians here. Try Reddit?

Canadian at your service. I wouldn’t say our regional stereotypes are very deep-seated, certainly less so than the UK or USA. Canadians see each other as more similar than not, I’d say.

West Coast would tend to be comsidered hippie/crunchy or outdoorsy types; East Coast I suppose would be painted as hard drinking fisherman types playing the fiddle. There is a stereotype of people from Newfoundland in particular as being stupid but that’s just a tired old joke, not something anyone really thinks.

Loads more places between the coasts, of course.

Canadian here; umm I think of them as Canadians who live in a different province. All the provinces and territories are beautiful in their own way; more similarities than differences…except Quebecers, they’re “special”. My DIL from NS has the most wonderful accent and colloquialisms. Newfies are renowned to be super kind.

Canadian here, I have lived on both coasts.
East Coast tends to feel a bit behind the times, friendly people, but high rates of poverty, and a generational pessimistic attitude
Views the West as rich and out of touch.

West Coast , especially on the island, is much more health conscious, outdoorsy lifestyle, the poverty tends to be concentrated in certain areas.
Views the East Coast as sweet, if simple, when they think of them at all.

Both lots tend to hate Ontario.
