Does anyone know skipton station? If I arrived there at night (eg 9pm) on a Friday would I be likely to find a taxi to take me 10 or 11 miles away, or would I have to book in advance?

tia!

I'm very local to Skipton but have to admit I've not needed to get a taxi in quite a while, but I thought I'd reply in case no one else comes along! There's a taxi rank outside the station, so you may well find one easily when you arrive, but whenever I'm on the train I always hear a lot of people phoning up for a taxi once the train leaves Leeds (or wherever you're coming from) so that they know it'll definitely be waiting there for them on arrival.

Depending where you're going (into the Dales I'm guessing?) it will probably be worth phoning round further in advance to find the cheapest quote as it can be quite expensive I think. I have heard that Uber are often a lot cheaper for trips into the Dales, but I don't have first hand experience. I hope you have a good trip!

Well most of the waiting taxis seem to congregate in the bus station car park (about a five minute walk away)

where are you going?

my daughter frequently used uber around skipton area until she passed her test

i I don’t think you will have difficulty getting one

Thanks both! This is really useful. Yes, going to a hotel in the dales for a couple of nights.
