Debit card declined on some websites but works elsewhere, anyone had this?

had my debit card for a year with no issue, noticed a problem about 4 weeks ago, I tried to order tickets for Peter Kay over the phone with the venue and the lady kept telling me it wouldn't go through because there was an issue with the 3 digit code.

tried to order an iceland delivery and get 'there is an issue with your payment method, please try another'

theres a website I order the same thing from once a week and suddenly it won't accept my card for payments.

tried to order a take away last night and same thing.

But.. it works no issue on ebay, amazon etc

called my bank who said they couldn't see any issue with the card at all, he then asked me to make a purchase with him on the phone on the website that wasn't working and it worked, now it isn't working again.

anyone else had this? what was the issue? do i just get a new card and forget about it?!

If the bank can’t find an issue, ask them to issue you a new card.

I've had my credit card declined a few times, every time it's been a one off purchase from a website/shop I wouldn't normally use. Once was buying concert tickets and annoyingly the last time was attempting to pay for parking, I presume there is an algorithm that flags up the transaction as being suspicious, it's never happened with sites like Amazon or in Tesco. It's a question only your bank can answer, they will have a record of the declined transaction and know the reason.

I had this recently my bank looked into it and said there was nothing fishy about it. Bloody annoying to have no answers.
