What trousers are cool for teens?

I need to buy my 17yo some new clothes. She won't come with me (autistic). I'd like to get some summer trousers but what's cool for older teens? I'm thinking nice wide leg floaty but maybe that's only cool for us middle age mums!

I would say the baggy drawstring/elasticated pj bottoms type are in style at the moment. Some of these are for younger girls, at 17 I'd avoid the bright colours and patterns but subtle pin stripes and black and white gingham are in.
