thanks

Sounds like he has way too much ‘stuff’ so how about a fun experience to enjoy over the summer holidays?
Theme park, water park, whatever he is into.

Mrsmch123 · 30/05/2026 08:49

We do that regularly. So don't feel like it's part of his birthday.

Really hope ypu didnt bin useable toys and that's just an expression.

My 5 nearly 6 year olds current favourite is lego, and decent building wooden blocks. Maybe look at building type gifts. K'nex, lego etc. Or is he into cars? Hot wheels?

My DD has asked for a slide and swing but you seem have that covered. What about a paddling pool or water play of some kind? Those tracks that role up were a hit with my DS. Or some kind of fort for his army toys? A rocket is a hit with my two in summer. Or bits for the sand pit?

At that age my kids mostly wanted character toys of the characters they were into. My son loved Spider-Man, Power Rangers, Transformers etc, what characters does your son like? There is a new Toy Story film out soon so there will be loads of toys available from that. My kids had every Toy Story toy years ago.

How about Lego? A build a bear teddy? A camera? Magnatiles? A playhouse? My kids liked all those.

Or new bedroom stuff if that is in need of an update?

Yeh unfortunately it went in the bin. I've tried giving stuff away before but people just mess you around so I don't have time for that.

He has a paddling pool and a water table. We have the tracks that you clip together and put the little car on that runs around the track. He played with a rocket that launched really high then parachutes back down for a while but has lost interest. It's actually one of my favourite toys🤣

Have you asked him what he would like? Could be a friend has something he really likes, but hasn't said.

By the way, smaller toys can go to a charity shop.

We used to bin lots of stuff. We were messed around so often when giving things away or just charging a small amount, we’d stay in and people wouldn’t turn up to collect etc. We tried to give some to church playgroup and they had a list of things they couldn’t accept. Charity shops often say they aren’t accepting donations so sometimes you have to bin it unfortunately.

Aww this looks really good!defo something he would enjoy thanks
