Can anyone take my place on Cumbria retreat in June 2027?

Hello

I wonder if anyone can help.

I booked to go on a retreat in Cumbria in June 2027 and paid a £200 and then realised I cannot attend the dates after all (June 18th for 3 nights). I contacted the organiser and the deposit is strictly non refundable unless I find someone else to take my place.

Please let me know if you might be interested in taking my place. More details are available on the loud quiet’s website.

Thanks

You will need to put more details I think! What kind of retreat? How much does it cost? What's Loud Quiet?

I found the website. It’s about breathwork & meditation.

It’s £695 for a shared room, £895 for the ‘very limited’ single rooms - not clear which the OP has booked - & says it’s for ‘all genders’ & ‘LGBTQ+ friendly’ which, as a lesbian, I know just really means trans friendly nowadays. And also means no guarantee of sharing a bedroom with someone of your own sex.

Hello. Thank you for your responses.

I didn’t put the link into my post because I wasn’t sure if it would break rules about promoting but that’s the right one.

It’s a 3 night retreat in at a place called St Marks Stays in Cumbria. The prices are inclusive of all meals and there is a comprehensive list on the website about what is included such as guided somatic practices, breathwork, yoga, meditation, and sauna and ice bath sessions.

There are options for having your own room but this is limited and the option to share a room if you are going with somebody. I booked one place in a shared room as I was planning to attend with a friend.

How does your friend feel about you selling your place / your share of the room given that you were due to be sharing with her?

I might have been interested but have learned that having one’s own room solves most of the things that can otherwise go wrong on any kind of residential event.

I let my friend know that I couldn’t attend before she booked do that was all fine.

I will check with the organiser whether it matters whether the person I find wants their own room.

Hello

I contacted the organiser and, at this stage, there is still a private room available so, if somebody is interested, they could take my place, have their own private room and I could have my deposit returned to me.

If anyone is interested, please feel free to contact me. I would really appreciate it.
