Wine gift ideas for an evening wedding invitation on a £20 budget

I want to get a bottle of wine to take as a gift to a wedding where I am invited to the evening bit. Budget about £20. Was thinking Whispering Angel, would that be okay? Any other suggestions that I could buy in Waitrose or Sainsburys?

Sorry I can't help with your wine choice, but why not put the £20 note in the wedding card and be done with it. That way the couple can choose a wine that suits their own taste, or 4 bottles if they like cheaper wine, or use it to help pay off what they have spent on the wedding, or to buy part of a new {insert anything you use in the home}, or whatever they want, rather than receiving an expensive bottle of wine that might not be to their taste.

I work in 5* hospitality - Whispering Angel is overpriced and overrated and you're paying for advertising. Find a bottle of Sancerre or Pouilly-Fumé for that budget and that will be fab.

I'd look for an English Sparkling wine or Cremant. More special than cava or prosecco but more of the price goes on the wine than champagne which carries a premium due to the name.

It has to be to the couples taste. Are they fussy? If you know if they like red white pink or Fizzy I'd go to good local wine shop and choose something . Cash would be better.
