I'm doing couch to 5k, and need to go out for my next run. I know I'll feel better once I've done it, so before I wimp out, tell me to get out there please!

Ooh go go go and when you come back tell us which week and which run it was! I don’t want to hear about it now because you’ll get too distracted on your phone 😂

Couch to 5k is a load of nonsense. Anyone can do it if they've got a bit of grit - get on and do it girl.

It's all in the mind, hardly any of it is physical - really. It'll feel like hell for 5-10 minutes, push through it (all the legends do).

GO AND STOP OVER THINKING IT

I always think to myself, I’ve never ever felt anything other than better for having done exercise, getting out of the door is often the hardest part :)

Get your kit on while you're dithering. Next thing you know you'll be out the door.

I'm back! Took ddog with me. He had a walk even though I was running 🤣. I have just finished week 4.

I'm really enjoying the program. I went from doing half marathons and one marathon 8 years ago to basically stopping running overnight. Decided it was time to get back into doing some form of exercise, so decided to give it a go. I really like the structure of it all.

That’s ridiculous- running 5k is very physical for a lot of people. Don’t diminish others efforts!

I never thought my PE teacher would be a MNer.

I like C25k. It's much nicer having someone like Laura or Sarah Millican in your ear cheering you on than beetroot-faced PE teachers bellowing and belittling your achievements. By week 5 I'd run the furthest in one go in my life, and much nicer than death by 1500m running in a boring oval and being berated for taking a walk break.

Well done for getting out OP!

TheChosenTwo · 29/05/2026 21:23

Well done op, proud of you. It’s warm and was presumably the end of the working day, not always easy to find the motivation so a big well done for you!

OneNaiceSnail · 29/05/2026 21:28

🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🙄🙄

Week done OP!
I just did mine too (wk3, run 3... Has taken me a month due to leg injury!) I hate this saying but they do say it's getting out there that's the hard part!
