X account hacked - help on what to do please

Can anyone help please? Several times recently someone has attempted to access my X account. I haven't used it for over a decade, and the emails sent to me gave a confirmation code. I deleted them all as spam.

Overnight there has been another attempt, and this time they have managed to log into the account via a Mac in Bangladesh. X has sent me several emails and one in particular saying you recently changed your password so if it wasn't you to contact X support. Hover over those words and the link comes up as:
support . x . com / forms / hacked (without spaces, I put them in to type it on here.
Does that look legitimate to you? The email itself came from verify @ x . com and I don't want to follow any of the links at all in case the emails themselves are dodgy.

Obviously the link I've posted could be a scam so you may want to find it yourself!

@MissKittyCat Thanks, I'll try that. I've never even used the account, I opened it many years ago, took a quick look and never bothered again. So this is annoying to say the least.

Dh similarly has a dormant x (Twitter) account and had messages like that a few weeks ago, think the alleged attempt was Brazil. He just ignored it.
