Never ending cough

Searched old threads but couldn’t really find the answer. I caught a cough from my child 2.5 weeks ago, typically he bounced back but I didn’t! It sounds like it could be the one that seemed to be rife earlier in the spring. Minimal other symptoms - vague stuffy nose and sore throat at points but it’s the relentless cough. It went through being a tickly cough, keeping me awake then severe chest irritation and a dry cough keeping me up at night. Now it seems to be chesty every so often to clear my chest and feeling ok in between. I should add I’ve been using a blue inhaler since the dry cough part to help with the irritated chest feeling.

Is this normal and still part of the recovery? On Tuesday it will be 3 weeks and I’ll be calling the doctor if no significant improvement from where I am. I don’t have any of the warning signs like fever breathlessness etc otherwise I’d have called already. I just can’t believe it’s been this relentless as the early virus part didn’t even seem that bad!

I have had a cough since March! Have had X Ray blood tests and a liver scan coming up. Sorry can’t help but you are not alone.
