Farted in yoga class - so embarrassed!

Ok I think the title says it all! I have been going to yoga for a few weeks and love it - but was a little too into it tonight and let one slip! sooo embarrassed. Please reassure me that others have done the same - or worse!
ALso - any advice on what food to avoid pre class to avoid this happening again? class is at 6:45 so I have a snack (not full evening meal) before going.

Honestly it’s a very common occurrence in yoga. I’d say every other class someone lets one slip audibly. Don’t worry about it

I used to attend an "Over 50's Exercise Class" in my local leisure centre and the instructors would try and vary the lessons every couple of weeks, so we'd to aquarobics, circuit training, weight training, etc, and one week they announced that the following two weeks were going to be Pilates.
Ten minutes in and I was absolutely bursting to let one go, when suddenly the instructor very audibly farted and said, if I needed to do that a lot of you probably do as well, so lets get it over with.
For a few minutes it was like Blazing Saddles then we all got on with the session.
It happens...

Please reassure me that others have done the same - or worse!

My Pilates instructor told me I was over using my glutes. Yes I thought, as I’m trying desperately hard not to fart.

Yeah I'm Vegetarian too! maybe that's why heh

Many years ago I stopped going to yoga classes as I had an issue with wind from, errr, the front. I was so embarrassed one day that I left before the end of the class, reassuring myself that it was fine as I'd never see anyone from there again... until I married the instructor's son

I do martial arts and rocketed out a massive fart in our last class, it was loud and like a rat had crawled up my arse and died and due to being a high grade, I stand in the front row of the class with loads behind me. 🤢

Fortunately everyone laughed, so it wasn’t too bad, but I’d rather not repeat the experience.

Yesterday it was the embrrassing peirod leak at work thread then the builders that found knickers behind the heater thread, today fart in yoga class.

It’s happened to me in Pilates, but also to others so I just ignore. I think I worry about it so much it makes it worse!

I woke myself up with my own snoring during the mediation once.

Glad I'm not the only one. I had to give up on yoga classes because of this. I seemed to be the only person with the problem. The stress was appalling. It was quite a crowded class so I felt so bad about farting so close to the others. I told a friend who does loads of yoga and she just looked blank and said she had never experienced it either herself or in any of her numerous classes over the years.
I have done other forms of exercise class and occasionally had a problem but never to the extent it happened in yoga.

And this is why I don't go to exercise classes. As I've got older my bowels have decided to produce an uncontrollable amount of gas. My younger self would be mortified, having never understood how people couldn't control it.

Not yoga related, but who was that celebrity who farted on traitors? More humiliating on tv!!

A bit off topic but when I was a kid I was having a sleepover at a friend's house. She farted so loud in her sleep she actually woke herself up quite startled 😂

My friend loudly fanny farted in yoga once. We still laugh about and it was years ago.

I farted yesterday picking up one of the bags from my online shopping delivery - whilst the driver was still there.

I just said “oops”. I sort of wanted him to say, “ don’t worry Mrs Boyd Peters, you can have that one on me”, à la Dear John.

Oh God, every time I attend a yoga class somebody drops one. Don't worry about it.
