Weird phone calls

Obviously I have now blocked and deleted but I had 4 missed calls last night esteem 9-10pm from a mobile number. They were 5 minutes apart and then got a text saying “it’s hot”. I’ve had two more calls now.

the number isn’t on what’s app as I tried it and said so.

I must be missing something. What is weird about that ?Is it not hot where you are ?

It’ll just be a mistake. Someone will have got your number mixed up with someone else’s, that’s all. You’ve blocked it. The end. It’s a non-issue, just a wrong number.

Could be a scam but also might not be. You could just reply and ask who it is. If they’re a bit vague then that’s your answer - it’s a scammer.

Don’t reply FFS. Ignore. If you reply you’re just confirming that your number’s in use, which isn’t wise.

why would they let it ring once and then hang up? Or text a message like I’m trying g to get hold of x person. I had one where someone had obviously put in the wrong number online. They kept calling me about his car he wanted scrapping!

It sounds obvious now but I googled the number and few reports of it being a nuisance call of the heavy breathing type. At least it’s easy to block numbers now. I remember the time before 1471.
