Tice should worry more about his two-tier punctuation.

Both Badenoch and Lam have been fact checked on their claim that welfare payments now exceed income tax receipts for the “first time ever”.

That’s not true. Welfare has been higher than income tax for more than a decade.

Those two very rarely let truth get in the way.
My clematis has made an appearance this year, I thought it had given up & died last year.
I passed my test first time, never really enjoyed driving though I gave up driving about eight years ago after my stroke, the meds make me permanently dizzy & used to feel as though the car was moving even when it wasn’t or stuck in traffic so thought it safer for me & others, lucky enough I have excellent transport links on my doorstep so doesn’t really make much impact, Ds passed second time dd has never driven her eyesight is really quite impaired so again not safe.

Won’t stop them claiming it though.
or the unfashionable repeating it.

Exactly these “facts” always seem to grow legs & become truth very quickly unfortunately.

DuncinToffee · 05/06/2026 15:44

I know soundbites are more important than facts, especially for someone who speaks a lot of sense Wink

She’s a character in Lord of the Rings. Thank you for making me smile.

Welcome home @cardibach, glad to see you had a good time. It’s a shame you took the cracking weather with you!

Having a lot of problems logging in with Mumsnet, it seems to freeze all my internet connections. If it keeps happening, I shall report it to Ofcam.

Glad you had a lovely time @cardibach and Greek wine is gorgeous.

Watched this last night. All the women in the audience were shaking their head when Kenyon spoke regarding sexism and misogyny.

No you’re not. It’s not obligatory.

PickAChew · 05/06/2026 16:52

I was force fed LOTR by my ex, @dontcallmelen -still makes me shudder, after all these years 😂

DuncinToffee · 05/06/2026 16:55

I love LotR, and the Hobbit.

The Galadriel spin off 'Rings of Power' is terrible though

I’ve never seen such collective revulsion as the women in the audience showed. Thank you for the Crace article, the Times and the Telegraph’s view was very similar.

I think we should adopt Galadriel as a word for the thread!

I was very Galadriel to see Kenyon get his arse kicked on QT.

I suspect Badenoch et al are excluding pensions from their calculations because for whatever reason they don't count as welfare. No, I don't expect them to make sense.

I just saw that, it's so sad. 72 is no age really. My DC grew up on Buffy.

😂
I realised after I posted @BIossomtoes i sounded a bit snippy, my brain just won’t engage when it comes to fantasy/other worlds type of books or films I bloody hated reading Harry Potter to dd that fecking Dobby elf nearly tipped me other the edge.

BIossomtoes · 05/06/2026 17:14

I can’t believe Anthony Head was the same age as me, I thought he was much younger. He was a stunningly good looking man as well as an excellent actor.
